A 12 strand necklace made in Nepal from Czechoslovakian glass beads. ‘Pote’ necklaces are traditionally worn by married women in Nepal, made from 6 or 12 strands of tube beads in red or green. Nowadays many colours and size and shape of beads are used. Our family in Kathmandu has been buying the strung beads from the same person for many years and then have them made into the length required and clasps put on by hand. These necklaces look great for the office or evening out.
