The wild nettles are harvested and processed by hand before being hand drawn (by a method called tooth and spindle) into fine yarn - it takes 10 days' work to make one kilogramme of nettle yarn. The hand-drawn yarn for this product is bought direct from the people in the hills of Nepal.  When you buy this  nettle shawl  you know you are helping to sustain the age-old tradition of hand drawn yarn.

Tooth and spindle method was used in Europe during the middle ages.The sale of nettle yarn and nettle fibre products provides a cash income to families living in remote hilly areas of Nepal.

Wash care:
Hand wash only in cool water using non-biological washing liquid or flakes.  Wring lightly, line dry, cool iron while damp. Do not tumble dry.
