Crafted by hand right from the harvesting of the nettle through to the finished shawl. This wrap is the perfect accessory to wear to a party or special evening out.

The wild nettles are harvested and processed by hand before being hand drawn (by a method called tooth and spindle) into fine yarn - it takes 10 days' work to make one kilogramme of nettle yarn. Tooth and spindle method was used in Europe during the middle ages. The hand-drawn yarn for this product is bought direct from the people in the hills of Nepal.

The sale of nettle yarn and nettle fibre products provides a cash income to families living in remote hilly areas of Nepal.

Wash care: Hand wash only in cool water using non-biological washing liquid or flakes.  Wring lightly, line dry, cool iron while damp. Do not tumble dry.
