Made specially for the great outdoors, these lightweight backpacks in 90% HAND LOOMED Wild Nepali Hemp and 10% cotton feature bands of muted colours. This was the first time "Heaven Hemp" taught people in Nepal to weave the Nepali hemp against other materials to get a different texture and softness. Great for hiking, hill walking or just losing yourself in the countryside! Makes a great schoolbag.

HH005:  Pocket style has zipped outer compartment with a velcro'd pocket on either side. Two-way zip top closure that opens to reveal a large inner zipped pocket plus smaller zipped pocket and drop-in pocket. Adjustable shoulder straps.

We only use Swiss-made azo-free dyes for our clothes and accessories as these are more environmentally friendly. Azo dyes are difficult to remove from the ecosystem as they resist biodegradation in aerobic environments.

The wild hemp is gathered and processed by hand in the traditional way by farming families who weave fabric in quiet periods in the farming year. It is then hand-spun into yarn and woven into lengths of cloth before going to Kathmandu by bus. The farming families who produce this beautiful Himalayan textile receive a much-needed cash income from this business. This wild hemp is naturally organic and made entirely by hand.
